Valentines Dinner
On Saturday 13th February Birchwood Golf Club will be holding its Annual Valentines Dinner. Tickets are available at a cost of £18 per person, this includes a 4 course meal and evening entertainment.

Saturday Winter League
From Saturday 7th November the Birchwood Golf Club Winter League will start. The competition will be run for 20 consecutive weeks. The format is a weekly stableford competition over 13 holes, (1-7 & 13-18), there will be a weekly prize for the top 2 players, with the remainder of the prize fund going to the order of merit prize fund.
The Order of Merit will be decided by the 10 best stableford weekly scores over the 20 week period. This therefore means you dot have to play every week, as long as you play 10 out of 20 weeks you will have a chance to win the order of merit.
Order of Merit prizes will go down to 5th place, with the winner receiving the Winter League Trophy. Weekly entry is £2 per player, just register in the Pro Shop before play. Tee times are booked as normal, playing with who ever you decide.

Cheshire League Final Results 2009
Birchwood Golf Club 1st team were narrowly defeated 4.5- 3.5 in the Final of the North Cheshire League. The match against Ashton on Mersey Golf Club held at Warrington Golf Club went down to the Final game. Despite the defeat the team had a great season and can be proud of reaching the Final 2 yaers running, with a win in 2008 and a runners up spot in 2009.
Birchwood Golf Club 2nd team also lost their Fianl in the Plate Final at High Legh Park Golf Club against the host team, losing 5.5- 2.5 in the process.
Cheshire League Team News
Birchwood Golf Club 1st Team have reached the Final for the second year running having beaten Daveyhulme Golf Club over a 2 legged semi final.
A 5.5 - 2.5 win at home in the first leg, was foolwd up by a convincing 5-3 win away at Daveyhulme on Tuesday 28th July. The First team now play Ashton on Mersey Golf Club on Sunday 13th September at Warrington Golf Club, the tee time is 1pm start. Members are more than welcome to come and support the team in the final.
The Mens second team have also reached the Plate Final, again beating Daveyhulme Golf Club over the 2 legs. The date for the final is Sunday 13th September at High Legh Golf Club.
Midweek Winter Wednesday Competitons
From Wednesday 14th October 2009, the midweek Wednesday Competitions will continue for the winter season. These competions are open to both 5 day and 7 day members. The format will be 15 holes stableford full handicap. From November the competition will recert to 13 holes for the rest of the winter. All golfers must register with the Professional in the Professional Shop before commencing play in the competition.
An entry fee of £2 will be applicable for each competition and an optional £1 for the 2's sweep.
New Golf Club Reciprocal Agreement
The Council have approved reciprical agreements between the Clubs below.
Members will be able to play at these Clubs for half of the currnet green fee rate subject to the following conditions;
Monday to Friday only.
Tee Times subject to availability.
Members must telephone in advance to arrange a tee time and cannot turn up unannounced.
Handicap certificates must be produced as evidence of membership.
Maximum of 8 people at any one time, in either 2, 3 or 4 balls.
Tee times can only be booked a maximum of 14 days in advance.

Online Tee Booking System
Members now have the opportunity to register for both the golf clubs news letter and the new online tee booking system. You can register for both on the new golf clubs website. Tee bookings for members can only be done online once you have registered your name on the user system. Tee times are available to be booked from January 2nd 2009 and up to 14 days in advance.
