Birchwood Golf Club was designed by T J A McAuley in the mid 1970's and was eventually constructed and then opened in the autumn of 1979. Originally there was no clubhouse, so the members made use of 3 portacabins which were effectively 'the club'. It was not until 1985 when the current clubhouse was opened which made a tremendous difference to the way the club could be run. The social events were then held in the new premises and the choice of beer became ours and not that of the local pub landlords. The club really took off and we have now possibly one of the friendliest golf club atmospheres in the area. The facilities we offer include a sports bar with a snooker table and large plasma TV, the main bar in the club lounge with a view of the 1st and 18th holes and a patio area to sit and socialise before and after golf in the better weather. We believe we are now one of the best courses for golf in the Warrington area. We have a relaxed dress code for most occasions but we do insist on correct golfing attire when on the golf course. For members and their guests we have a busy and varied social calendar.

He brings with him some great ideas to develop the golf shop with a variety of top brands of equipment and clothing at competitive prices. He and his team are able to offer lessons, a complete repair service, advice on what to buy and a determination to create a professional environment for members and visitors to Birchwood Golf Club. Click here to browse Carl's website The Golf Course The golf course features some excellent holes, some of which have elevated tees that provide panoramic views over water and tree lined fairways. The greens are in play throughout the year, weather conditions permitting. The course is lady golfer friendly with 7 par five holes and 5 easy to reach par 3's. As a consequence of the many water ways running through the course we have attracted a variety of birdlife who visit us throughout the year.
